Sell your house in 3D

We are always looking at new ways for agents to market properties. So how about advertising your properties in 3D? Sounds garish, well there is a simple, amazingly powerful tool for creating and presenting 3D models of property. The product is called Google SketchUp. You can model properties & its surroundings, giving your customers a 3D view. You can even print to high resolution devices, post it to Google Earth or the 3D Warehouse.

So is there a future for Estate Agents to create their own 3D models of property? Let us know what you think and any comments if you have already used Sketchup.

The software looks good but will never rival a genuine walk through a property with an HD camcorder.

You can then outsource this to someone to make it web friendlyy e. convert to an FLV file so your hosting account doesn’t have a hernia streaming pure HD content.
Best used only for prestige properties.

Great idea but I don’t see this going anywhere.

As a web designer I find it difficult enough to educate my clients on using anything but Internet Explorer to browse the web, let alone download, install, and learn how to use Google sketch-up.

No offensive intended towards estate agents there but technology knowledge and Estate agency really needs a kick up the arse. As the previous commenter stated video is a good idea but even that is slow moving considering an agent can quite easily set-up a free You Tube channel and use that for video hosting. Slow moving industry when it comes to online possibilities and ventures.

Completely agree with Johnny – browsing an Estate Agents’ website should be easy to navigate without the hassle of downloading and installing extras such as Google sketch-up.

I do think video is a great idea for estate agents, as there are many ways to get the videos through to your audience, such as youtube.

Does anybody know if Dezrez actually caters for videos in any kind of way?

    Thanks

    Thanks for the feedback Georgy!

Just so you know, in dezrez you can link to a Youtube video easily, then have that video displayed on your website and uploaded to portals (if they accept). I have organised for a member of our support team to pop you a call to discuss :-)

    Thanks again
